My husband is so clever, here is our IFE moment. I needed to be on the roof with Ryan to help him paint the dormers. We have an extremely steep roof and I am extremely clumsy, talk about a bad combination. Ryan took into account all of these factors and decided it was in the best interest of the Brown family to tie me off to the chimney. He pulled out his old harness and attached the rope to the chimney, I was then safe to walk around the roof and assist as best I could. It's a good thing Ryan had thought this up because as I was painting the windows I lost footing and rolled down the roof. I grabbed the rope to stop me from sliding any farther and was able to get secure footing, less than a foot from the edge. I didn't have enough slack to go completely over but the possibility was there to get into an uncomfortable spot. Meanwhile, Ryan is busy sanding away, oblivious to the ordeal I had just experienced. Lesson Learned: Take in to account the possible dangers and the people you are working with and adjust accordingly.
